The story follows Dou Dou, a five-year-old girl sent by her overburdened mother to live with her grandmother in the countryside. Meeting her grandmother for the first time, Dou Dou feels a sense of unfamiliarity and unease as she struggles to adapt to her new life. She often longs for the days she spent with her mother. Fortunately, she befriends a one-eyed cat named A-Ji and a mysterious three-legged crow, embarking on a magical journey together. Through this narrative, the author subtly explores multiple definitions of "self-worth." Told in a lighthearted manner, the story invites readers to immerse themselves in Dou Dou’s world and reflect on family communication and emotional connection within their own families, offering emotional resonance and comfort.
